Jamaica is pretty cool. All the people talk like Jamaicans (not really, but a lot do). The work’s coming along. We taught three women last night.

We had a Mission Conference. Elder Von J Featherstone came and taught us. He told story after story along with experiences and poems.

The English branch emptied the water out of the font and the font is BIG. It’s in the new Richmond Hills chapel. It’s a beautiful church. So we were filling up buckets in the bathroom sinks and kitchen to dump in it to fill it up faster. Wow, we got about one foot of water in it and baptized him. He’s over 80 years old. Pantciano. He’s a cold old man. He had to lie down on the bottom of the font. It was a good experience and he seemed to like it. So did all the branch members who helped.

We went out and looked for somebody we could baptize that day and found a man. He lived in the sister’s area but we took him to the church and taught him. I was so impressed with my comp. I taught the man about God and Jesus Christ, then my comp told him God calls prophets. Then we committed him to be baptized.

She came reluctantly. Still not wanting to get baptized. So, her mom told her if she didn’t she would be grounded for a month. So she got baptized. It was bad she was out of control. All the members started saying she was possessed by the spirit of the devil (diablo). After she was baptized, she was jumping in and out of the font, making a lot of noise. It was bad.
Being worthy when needed
I received a call last night that my brother had been hurt in a motorcycle accident. He was rearended by a drunk driver who ended up driving over him and crushing his ankle.
