I’m going to add a few notes. I really had some dramatic ups and downs the first year and a half of my mission. In Dyker Heights, things really started to turn around. If my memory serves me well, I hit my top gear the next few months of my mission. Brownsville then East New York (second time), then back to Dyker Heights (a second time) the last month of my mission.

Oct 24, 2024 – Visit to the Jordan River Temple
I woke up early this morning. While preparing for work, I felt I should go to the temple. In this video, I talk a little bit about that experience.
Kansas City to Louisville
I travelled from Kansas City, Missouri; to St Louis, Missouri; to Louisville, Kentucky. I saw a few things along the way. The Saint Louis Temple, the Gateway Arch, and the Cahokia Monds.
City of Zion Temple Site
I did it. I stood on the very spot where the temple of the City of Zion, the New Jerusalem, will be built.
Reflection
Some reflection. Today in Sacrament Meeting, when they announced Madilynn’s mission call, there was an audible gasp when they announced Missouri Independence Mission. I felt the Holy Ghost wash over me.

We hunted down an investigator to a Pentecostal church then I bore my testimony in the church. The rest was good old fashion missionary work.
Should I Serve a Mission
I spent some time writing a letter to my daughter about serving a mission. It was long. She may not read all of it. But I felt it was important for me to say these things. It stems from the question, are you serving a mission for the right reasons?
