Some excerpts on my week.
Personal History
I’m going to categorize my life history here.
NYNYS Mission March 22-28, 1997
Nice and warm. 2 days without jackets. We found a [dime bag] of marijuana. 2nd time.
NYNYS Mission March 15-21, 1997
I’m so sore. It hurts to walk but we went to Rego Park for a test today. Oh Saturday, we got our rings NYS Priddis. It will always help me remember here. I guess I’ll feel like a pimp daddy back home.
The Holy War – Utah vs BYU Football Game
Today is the day. The Utah Utes are playing the undefeated BYU Cougars. Honestly, it could go either way. Utah could win and knock BYU out of its top 10 in the national ranking, currently ranked number 9. Or, BYU’s Cinderella season could continue.
NYNYS Mission March 7-14, 1997
March 7, 1997, Friday. We had Zone Meeting. Nice. We have to do a New Study Program. […] We’re booked to go to the Branch President’s home every Friday afternoon to eat. Yes! Good food too. We went on a few splits today trying to work out some stuff. Do […]
How did I do this week? November 3, 2024
Wow, where do I even begin? Life has its ups and downs. It has seasons of ease and difficulty, and sometimes those seasons are prolonged. Let me make a list of the things going on. Work is work. During the holidays, you just expect to work a little harder and […]
A Political Voice
I wrote a post a while back detailing my efforts to stop immersing myself in politics. I’ve done well… until recently. I allowed myself to get worked up about the Utah gubernatorial race and posted my position on Facebook. I felt strong, angry, and motivated in the moment. It didn’t […]
NYNYS Mission March 1-6, 1997
I’m going to add a few notes. I really had some dramatic ups and downs the first year and a half of my mission. In Dyker Heights, things really started to turn around. If my memory serves me well, I hit my top gear the next few months of my mission. Brownsville then East New York (second time), then back to Dyker Heights (a second time) the last month of my mission.
Oct 24, 2024 – Visit to the Jordan River Temple
I woke up early this morning. While preparing for work, I felt I should go to the temple. In this video, I talk a little bit about that experience.
Kansas City to Louisville
I travelled from Kansas City, Missouri; to St Louis, Missouri; to Louisville, Kentucky. I saw a few things along the way. The Saint Louis Temple, the Gateway Arch, and the Cahokia Monds.
