And I could recognize that I had not felt the spirit all week. I realized the spirit was nowhere near me and nowhere near where I was staying. And nowhere near the people I was traveling with.

I woke up this morning thinking about my friend Steve McIntosh. I thought I would write a little bit about him.
Am I prepared to enter Zion?
I feel we are in a strange predicament right now; living in the world while trying to not be of the world. I am sure that prior to us entering Zion we will be stripped of all things. Those who are still attached to the world will not be able to release it. Their appetites and passions will still be centered on all the world has to offer, even if the world is broken. While those humble followers of God will give all they have and if it so be, leave all they have behind in order to follow God.

Patriarchal Blessing
A Patriarchal Blessing is a strange thing. I received mine when I was about 22. I know the patriarch gets to know you a bit before giving you the blessing. Either way, he sure seemed to know a lot about me. At least what I could tell from what I know about my character. I can say he hit the nail on the head more than once.

I felt as though there was some significance to the 2017 and 2024 eclipses. I knew they were in the “last days” and I knew they were 7 years apart, which is symbolic of God and Righteousness. I also knew they made an X over the New Madrid fault. I also knew the Heartlanders believed the spot where they will intersect like an X may have been a Nephite place of gathering. How they timestamped the events of the last days I did not know. Clearly all speculation.
