When I was young, one of my favorite bands was Suicidal Tendencies. As a teenager between junior high and high school, I loved their shock-and-awe style and disturbing lyrics. My friend (the bishop’s kid) and I made a Suicidal Tendencies T-shirt in craft class, featuring a sweet graphic and listing all the ways the guy tried to kill himself in the song Suicidal Failure.

TikTok Is The Devil
Then it changed to TikTok. I swear it was designed to throw content at you based on what it thought you wanted to see—not what you actually wanted to see. A few of the trends shared with me genuinely terrified me, and I asked my daughter to stop using the app because TikTok is the Devil!
It Is Enough At This Moment
I needed that experience. My heart has been heavy. My burdens have felt overwhelming. While answers haven’t come about the path forward for our family or for my son, that moment reminded me God is close. And if He can help someone else through me, it is enough at this moment.

As I drove to the ER, I decided to listen to some music by Michael W. Smith. An old but familiar song came on called My Place In This World.

Beware of Pride
I would like to highlight a few segments. The picture I used is a bit lighthearted, but it is Gordon B Hinckley sitting with Ezra Taft Benson. Gordon B Hinckley read the talk because Ezra Taft Benson was unable to. I am assuming due to health. It is such a powerful talk and could be picked apart and written into a book. But, I’m sure it is a book that no one wants to write because so many elements of this talk cut to the heart. And, there are many so entrenched in their pride and their enmity toward God is so deep that they can not accept this truth.
