It seems there are 100 things stressing me out, another 100 afflicting me, and a million more happening in the world around me. Life is like a raging hurricane. It feels like continuous turmoil, with quiet moments of peace here and there.
CHARLIE KIRK
A week or so ago, a man named Charlie Kirk was murdered—or rather, assassinated—in front of thousands of kids at UVU in Orem, Utah. I had heard about the event on my way to work and wanted to attend, but I didn’t know it was happening that day. I only knew it was going to happen. I thought it was a wonderful opportunity for people to engage in free speech.
A short while into my day at work, I heard he had been shot. My social media flared up with images of him being shot in the neck, blood profusely spewing from the wound. It was traumatic, to say the least. I could hardly finish my day at work. My heart was broken for days.
Not only do I ache for him, his beautiful wife, and children, but also for our society and the kids who witnessed it. Many of the youth at UVU were experiencing political action for the first time. And what did they see? A bloody assassination ten feet away. It was horrible.
Society has fallen into conspiracy theories, hateful speech, and people saying he “got what he deserved.” It is sickening. Who knows the truth? What we do know is that Charlie Kirk is dead. His company and movement, Turning Point USA, will now be run by his wife. His children are without a father—all because he said something that offended someone. This is America. You should be able to speak your mind without fear of being killed or executed for your political speech.
The left is oblivious to the harm they have caused to the right over political speech. People lose their jobs and livelihoods because they disagreed with a “new” reality: wokism, progressivism. They have broken down so many foundational aspects of society, and if you speak, you are canceled.
ISAIAH STARTED SCHOOL
In a surprising turn of events, Isaiah started school and has done well. He only tried to run away twice. He has resisted going many days, but now he is getting into a groove. His teachers raved about his success and even mentioned he might become a student body officer.
He is now at Spectrum Academy, which is geared toward kids with autism. He is in their “STARS” program, which is for more severe cases. At times, I wonder if maybe he doesn’t have autism, or if it’s going away. But it isn’t. It only takes a few minutes to realize it is alive and well.
TIKTOK & CTR RING HUNT
I have spent a lot of time on TikTok lately. Surprisingly, I have avoided much of the garbage and have seen some of the good that can come from social media. Many political discussions have been engaging and constructive, which I have really enjoyed.
I also started a CTR Ring Hunt on TikTok. I thought about starting a store and selling the 500 rings I have, but I decided to give them all away instead. It has been enjoyable and fulfilling. I have hidden half a dozen rings, and many have already been found.
MY PINKIE
If you know me, I had a hip replacement due to a bike accident 30 years ago. I was in a great deal of pain up to that surgery. Since then, I have felt like a new person—my pain is gone. But it feels as though it may have just transferred to my pinkie. Actually, my pinkie has been flaring up for 10 years. I started to show signs of arthritis a while ago. I feel God has kept me in pain to keep me humble. At times, I would like to just have that finger removed.
It finally started hurting badly enough that I went to the doctor this past week. I’m not sure what it is. Is it just arthritis, or—my doctor is suggesting it could be gout? We’ll see.
