‘Love Is Blind’ Sparks Debate After Bride Walks Away Over Political Values – Newsweek
‘Love Is Blind’ season 8 finale: Who got married, who broke up at the altar
I read an article the other day about a TV series called Love is Blind that matches people with the love of their life. The article said two things caused the bride-to-be to walk away:
- The man attended a church that had “traditional” views on marriage.
- The man had not taken a political position on Black Lives Matter.
“She left with her family, and was still laughing about how she’s actually okay, just a little sad. She told her mom and sister that she just couldn’t get over how Ben thought (or more accurately, didn’t think) about Black Lives Matter, LGBTQ+ issues, or even the Covid vaccine (!) to have a real relationship with him.”
As a guy, I can relate. Ben said he hadn’t thought about it. I’ve said that to my wife a thousand times. She said he should have. But this does bring up a bigger issue related to the decay of morality and the traditional family in this country. To the best of my knowledge, this show was about heterosexual individuals looking for a partner of the opposite sex. Then why, at the altar, did it become the rights of her sister, who is gay, that became the deciding factor? That is odd.
There are too many things that can cause a split in a union. But there are definitely things that both people should be in harmony with: religion, politics, and money. In this case, two of those three things broke the union before a commitment was made. I think that is all for the better.
These arguments over gender roles and whether genders even exist will continue to play out in our society. The first commandment from God given to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden was to multiply and replenish the earth. We should not forget that commandment. In these last days, it is no wonder the first commandment is under attack. The destruction of the traditional family. The destruction of gender and procreation.
Society has been moving away from the traditional family and traditional gender roles. We must not forget that is what the entirety of the human race was built upon: husbands, wives, and a husband and wife in every home. There needs to be people willing to take a stand for these traditional values and traditional roles. Espousing traditional values should not be deemed as hate speech. They are foundational to the existence of every person living on earth.
As for love being blind, in this case, love was not blind. It saw what it believed to be the glaring flaws of a man who had no purpose or values.
