As I was praying this morning, I thought of the phrase that said “hope for a better world.” The world often focuses on “World Peace.” It often seems the world wants the slogan, but not the actual world peace. It caused me to think though… what is or would be a “better world?”
The scripture that contains that phrase is Ether 12:4 Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God.
If you notice, hope cometh of faith. Faith in who? Jesus Christ. Therefore, a better world would be a world in which there was more faith in Jesus Christ. And if people had faith in Jesus Christ they abound in good works, including following the commandments. If people followed the commandments, we would live in a better world… and guess what there would be? World Peace.
