OK, I was thinking about this today. It is clear we are watching Esdras Eagle play out before our eyes and it is fascinating to watch.
- The First Feather – Donald J Trump – A Short Feather [2nd Esdras 11:26]
- The Second Feather – Joe Biden – Disappeared more quickly than the first [2nd Esdras 11:27]
- The Third and Fourth Feathers – the two that remained planned to reign together; [2nd Esdras 11:28]
That is where we are at. Joe Biden has now dropped out of the race. The democrat party needs to pick a candidate now. News stories over the last few days reported Kamala Harris had secured the delegates needed. In addition, she also raked in 50 million dollars in donations. But, she still isn’t the party’s nominee and we may not know until next month during the Democrat convention if she secures it.
But, I want to play this out as though she did secure the nomination.
A Path for Kamala Harris
Joe Biden after having dropped out of the presidential race has been hit left and right with accusations of being unfit to finish his term in office. If he is unfit to run for office, he is surely unfit to maintain the presidency. There may be articles filed to find him unfit. Who knows if they will materialize?
The reason I bring it up is that it should not take long for the Democrats to realize the strongest power play they have going into the election is the removal of Joe Biden from office. All you need to do is look at the guy and you can tell he needs to be relaxing at home sipping lemonade. On the flip side, one move and history could be the momentum they need to propel them through the election and into the White House.
Here is what I thought could happen that I wanted to share.
- Kamala is made the Democrat nominee in August at the Democrat National Convention.
- Her campaign is in full motion and she has a VP picked
- 2 Esdras 11:28 “the two that remained were planning between themselves to reign together;”
- In October 2024 Biden is removed from office
- Kamala and her new VP would take over as President and Vice-President and be planning to reign the next four years
Why would Biden dropping out prior to the election in November be a good thing? It would be a good thing for Kamala Harris and the Democrat Party because of the following:
- She would enter voting day as the acting president of the United States
- She would be the First Black Woman to be president
- She would be the First Jamaican American Black Woman to be president
- She would be the First Indian American Black Woman to be president
- It would be historic, upon historic, upon historic for her to become president
- There would be wall-to-wall favorable news coverage of her rise to the presidency
- The free news publicity would be of unmeasurable value
Personally, I could see this happening. Then the race for the White House really begins.
What are some of the issues that could come up?
Natural Born Citizen
There is one major question looming. Can she be the nominee? Is she qualified to be the president? This arises from the question of whether or not Kamala is a “Natural Born” citizen of the United States.
No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.
Article II – Executive Branch | Constitution Center
This was apparently decided back in 1898 in the case of the United States vs Wong Kim Ark where anyone born on US soil was considered a Natural Born Citizen. Likewise, anyone born abroad to at least one US Citizen is considered “natural born.”
Kamala Harris was born in Oakland, CA to parents who were both citizens of different nations in the United States as students. Her Mother Shyamala Gopalan is Indian who came to the US in 1958 at 19 years old to study Endocrinology at the Univeristy of California, Berkeley. Her Father Donald J Harris is Jamaican who came to the US in 1961 to study Economics at the University of California, Berkeley. Put the puzzle together and you have Kamala Harris being born in 1964 in California.
There will probably be some people who say this is an issue. I don’t see it going anywhere.
Her Dirty Laundry
Kamala Harris has dirty laundry, just like everyone else. Honestly, I don’t think any of it is going to hurt her. One of the biggest accusations against her is that she slept her way to the top.
She slept her way to the top – Kamala Harris had a long affair with San Fransisco Mayor Willie Brown. This led to Kamala becoming district attorney in Alameda County, Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board, California Medical Assistance Commission, and assistant district attorney. These led to her becoming District Attorney of San Francisco in 2004 and Attorney General of California in 2011. The relationship with Willie Brown lasted through the 1990’s and led to accusations of political corruption because of “leaders appointing friends and loyal political soldiers to lucrative positions on the commissions.” [Wikipedia] Harris was one of these.
This is interesting because this is a personal moral issue and America has clearly shifted from universally believing morality was important to disregarding it. Then there is Trump whose accusations of affairs are legendary. I think the two are mutually exclusive.
I don’t think there is enough dirty laundry on her for any of it to reflect poorly on her. It will really be an issue of whether America likes her or not. She has a funny cackle when she laughs. It’s actually quite annoying. That is hardly and reason to disqualify her. Look at George Bush and the abuse he took for having a funny laugh. He was still elected president, twice. She says stuff that doesn’t make sense and makes her look as though she is stupid. Everyone does that. She may do it more than others. Who cares. It doesn’t disqualify her. She is obviously not an imbisal. She has defended and fought against every major issue facing America, not to mention her legal actions against some of the biggest companies in the world. As Vice President, she has dutifully sat in the background. Will we see her roar?
Trump is a Convicted Criminal
The day after Joe Biden announced his dropping out of the presidential race, Kamala Harris gave a speech. She painted a scene of a successful prosecutor who went up against some of the worst criminals, detailing a laundry list of crimes Donald Trump has been accused of and some he was found guilty of (he was convicted, it doesn’t matter at this point if it was all political). It will be a battle between the virtuous prosecutor and the defiant felon.
“I took on perpetrators of all kinds: predators who abused women, fraudsters who ripped off consumers, cheaters who broke the rules for their own gain,” Harris said. “So hear me when I say, I know Donald Trump’s type.”
I don’t think either of them has an easy path.
