My cousin shared a video with me of this guy named Matt Jeppson. He is kind of like Morgan Philpot in that he is an attorney, good at study and research, and he is also focused on the last days. I was pretty amazed by what Matt came up with and how he presented it. I’m going to review a few of the points he addressed.
This is part two about the eclipses.
I was very surprised by one aspect of this, I am still perplexed about one aspect of the other. I’m going to try to sort it out to better understand it. Starting with the eclipses in the United States.

To start, I felt as though there was some significance to the 2017 and 2024 eclipses. I knew they were in the “last days” and I knew they were 7 years apart, which is symbolic of God and Righteousness. I also knew they made an X over the New Madrid fault. I also knew the Heartlanders believed the spot where they will intersect like an X may have been a Nephite place of gathering. How they timestamped the events of the last days I did not know. Clearly all speculation.
This is where Matthew Jesspon I believe opened a door for me. The two primary eclipses in 2017 and 2024 form an X. But is it an X? It is also the shape of “Tav” or “Taw”
As you can see in the chart above. The first letter is “Alef” also “Aleph” and the last letter is “Taw” also “Tav”. Curiously, the two eclipses in 2017 and 2024 create an X in the sky. They create the letter Tav in the Hebrew alphabet, written in the sky by the hand of God. If you add the 2023 eclipse to this pattern, they create the letter Aleph. Why is this significant?

Doctrine and Covenants 29:30
30 But remember that all my judgments are not given unto men; and as the words have gone forth out of my mouth even so shall they be fulfilled, that the first shall be last, and that the last shall be first in all things whatsoever I have created by the word of my power, which is the power of my Spirit.
Doctrine and Covenants 88:59
59 Beginning at the first, and so on unto the last, and from the last unto the first, and from the first unto the last;
Doctrine and Covenants 90:9
9 That through your administration they may receive the word, and through their administration the word may go forth unto the ends of the earth, unto the Gentiles first, and then, behold, and lo, they shall turn unto the Jews.
Doctrine and Covenants 107:35
35 The Twelve being sent out, holding the keys, to open the door by the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and first unto the Gentiles and then unto the Jews.
Doctrine and Covenants 107:97
97 And these seventy are to be traveling ministers, unto the Gentiles first and also unto the Jews.
Doctrine and Covenants 110:4
4 I am the first and the last; I am he who liveth, I am he who was slain; I am your advocate with the Father.
You have two things happening here with all of this first is last and last is first stuff.
- The first thing is that they are declaring Jesus Christ to be the God over the whole earth. He is the first and the last. He created all things in the beginning. The law was created by him and fulfilled in him. He brings all things from beginning to end into fulfillment. He is the law and he fulfills the law. He chose, in the beginning, to do the will of the Father by coming to earth to atone for our sins; in the end, we will stand before Him and He will be our judge and advocate before the Father’s throne.
- The second thing is the gospel passing from the Jews to the Gentiles and vice versa. The gospel was first given to the Jews. After the Jews rejected Jesus Christ, after his death and resurrection, the gospel was given to the Gentiles. In the last days, the gospel came first to the Gentiles and after the Gentiles reject Jesus Christ, the gospel will be taken to the Jews.
Strangely enough the sign in heaven is God writing The Beginning and The End in the sky for the whole world to see. Is he saying I am the first and the Last. Or is he saying the last shall be first and the first shall be last? Is he saying one period has ended and another has begun? Well, if that is the case, heaven help us. The prophecies about what should happen should the Gentiles reject the gospel of Jesus Christ are terrible.
We learn through the Book of Mormon that America is a promised land. Any nation that should possess her and reject the gospel of Jesus Christ shall be wiped from off her face. 3 Nephi 16 We also learn in the Book of Mormon that they blessings of the Gentiles are held by and center on America where the gospel was restored.
WHAT I DON’T UNDERSTAND
I need to write another post on this.
- The eclipses making an X over the Red Sea
- The eclipses over the Red Sea are 7 years apart (again)
- The Ecliptic Year [346 days]
- The Time between the 2024 eclipse and the 2027 eclipse [3.5 years]
- The Time between the 2027 eclipse and the 2034 eclipse [7 years]
Draconic Ecliptic Year – Likewise, as seen from the Earth, the Sun passes both nodes as it moves along its ecliptic path. The period for the Sun to return to a node is called the eclipse or draconic year: about 346.6201 days, which is about 1⁄20 year shorter than a sidereal year because of the precession of the nodes.
I will look at this closer in a different post. I need to understand it better why it is, where it comes from, and how it fits into the scriptures.
