A little reminiscing

I know I have talked about my conversion story a few times on here. I wanted to take a moment to reminisce about a few things I loved at that time. I was continually trying to fill my life with good things. So, I indulged abundantly in these things.

LIVING SCRIPTUES

I absolutely loved the Living Scriptures videos. I’m not sure where my parents got them. We must have had a video subscription or something. We had what felt like dozens of their videos and I would sit and watch them over and over again. It wasn’t just the video, but it was also the song included with each video.

  • Nephi and the Brass Plates – I Will Go and Do What the Lord Hath commanded
  • Journey to the Promised Land – Step by Step
  • The Conversion of Alma the Younger – Sweet Is the Feeling
  • The Savior In America – Who Am I
  • Alma and the Zoramites – The Word Is A Seed

The songs were so well done. I believe they were mostly done by Lex de Azevedo and Carol Lynn Pearson. A few were sung by Kenneth Cope.

They were amazing to me.

MUSIC

The other thing that was so impactful to me was the music. I would say the two most influential to me were the EFY soundtracks and Kenneth Cope. I absolutely loved them both and would listen to them over and over again. I know this is a pretty nerdy thing to do, but I did. I was the picture-perfect example of Peter Priesthood at that time. But it wasn’t that, I needed them to get my mind in the right place. I had come from such a polar opposite life. I needed the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost.

  • Return with Honor 1995
    • Return with Honor by Kenneth Cope
    • The Right Track by Kenneth Cope
  • Serving with Strength 1994
  • Sharing the Light 1993

Personally, I think Greater Than Us All is one of the best LDS albums ever written. And the song Face to Face off of the Kennth Cope Voices album is one of the greatest songs ever written.
