I had a sister missionary at the baptism last night tell me my Spanish was better than my companion’s. I guess she hasn’t heard much of it. My Spanish bites. But it was kind of flattering because my companion doesn’t trust my Spanish and won’t let me speak.

We are continually having youth throwing a lot of profanity at us. They come and say vulgar things behind our backs. I guess they want to see if we will turn around and say something. It kind of reminds me of myself way back when I was blind to the truth. [I tried to shock people as well.]
June 2, 1996
Well, church was crazy today. Things are good. We just had a few crazy experiences. [Elder] and I went on a split today. And [Elder] fearlessd a girl. We have a long discussion with this girl. (which we probably shouldn’t have) She asked us questions and we answered them. She was very friendly. Very friendly in ways we don’t like. We took her to the park and taught her 2 discussions which weren’t the most successful discussions we have given. She liked to touch. I think she did it because she knew it made us uncomfortable. Ouch. She put her arm around me, and I curled up into a ball and cringed. It would make me shake.
[While reading this, I’m asking myself why we are still talking to her]
We ended up dragging her to the church, literally. [Elder] grabbed her arm and pulled her to the church. Then made her wear his jacked in the meeting. (her dress was a little immodest, only a little) (OK, A lot immodest) She was not unattractive either.
[Oh, that’s why we kept talking to her]
She was far from Honduras […omitted…] If I did it again, I would say she was Satan’s little helper. She talked about a lot of bad stuff.
We haven’t been able to reach Fransisco. I do think he’s slipping away. We won’t stop trying yet. It takes a lot more than just never picking up the phone.
This was the year of the Jazz. They could have made it to the finals. Nope. They lost the 7th game to the SuperSonics by 4 points. Too bad Maybe next year.
