NYNYS Mission April 25, 1996

A mission memory.

April 25, 1996

Today was my birthday and wow what a surprise it was. Last night my comp was worried because the other Elders weren’t back at 10:30 so I told him to shut up and go to sleep. If they aren’t here in the morning, we’ll call the ZL’s. They came home shortly after and I was about out cold. I woke up in the morning and in the middle of the guia missional (missionary guide) about 8:45 AM the doorbell rights. I go to answer it and it’s all the Spanish Elders. Wow, I’m like what are you doing here? They all said it’s your birthday. So we came to celebrate. I didn’t believe them. I felt a little awkward and we finished the guia missional. Just as we finished they all came in with balloons, a cake, and a pie. Crazy. It was nuts. Apparently, they had stayed up half the night making it. Was cool. I got the happy birthday and feliz cumplianos thing. Then on accident, the party went until 11 ouch. But it was fun. I do know they put a lot into it. I must say I was touched by it and the rest of the day was very good. Then I opened up presents of candy. Great. I would have liked a letter, but more all this was sufficient. They wrote on the cake.

Happy 23 Birthday.

You’re 23 and just begun.

When we’re 23 we will be done.

Oh cute. But true. They look at me and are nice enough not to ask questions about it. I’m glad.
