The Spirit in All Things

I think I mentioned that I have been pretty impressed with the books written by John Pontius.  I’ve read other stories before about near-death experiences and the thing that fascinated me the most about them was that the plants and rocks and other elements all seemed to have life.  Not just the life they live, but that they resonate sound, joy, and praise to God for their creation.

When I read Visions of Glory it seemed to take the same storyline but expanded upon it.  Not only living but having a voice that was able to describe its creation and all it has been used for, good or bad.

I’ve often told my kids there is no real darkness.  There is light all around us, we just can’t see it.  The light of Christ shines on all things day and night Nothing is invisible or hidden in darkness to the Lord.  But, more and more having an understanding that all things were created spiritually before they excited physically must mean that some type of spirit exists in all things.  It’s not just the light of Christ shining on things.  But it’s the spirit within all things that record the doings of man.

If all things, even the rocks have a spiritual origin and a link back to the God that created them.  Why would they not sing and praise God?

D&C 128:23

23 Let the mountains shout for joy, and all ye valleys cry aloud; and all ye seas and dry lands tell the wonders of your Eternal King! And ye rivers, and brooks, and rills, flow down with gladness. Let the woods and all the trees of the field praise the Lord; and ye solid rocks weep for joy! And let the sun, moon, and the morning stars sing together, and let all the sons of God shout for joy! And let the eternal creations declare his name forever and ever! And again I say, how glorious is the voice we hear from heaven, proclaiming in our ears, glory, and salvation, and honor, and immortality, and eternal life; kingdoms, principalities, and powers!
